With an understanding that all students may not be informed about alcohol or drug policies or effects of the consumption of alcohol and other drugs, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities and University partners developed the First Time Alcohol or Other Drugs Program or First Time AOD Program.
This informal process is designed to eliminate the behavior, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its effects while acknowledging the University's educational mission.
If students choose to participate in this informal process, they will be assigned educational sanctions, and if completed by the deadline, their violation will be considered resolved and will not constitute a disciplinary record. You can learn more about the AOD Program here.

Reflection is a way of learning and knowing. Student’s will reflect on their behavior that was a direct result of this incident and address the following prompts once they complete the Electronic Check up to Go sanction.
Who or what influenced your behavior regarding this incident? Who was impacted and/or harmed by this incident? How could your behavior impact your academic success here at WVU? Does your behavior reflect the person you want to be? Why or why not? What, if anything, would you do differently if you could go back to the incident? What did you learn as a result of the incident, process, and sanctions? How do you think this experience will impact choices you make related to alcohol or other drugs in the future?
